SUBNORDICA collaboration with Energinet

19 May by James Walker

A key element of SUBNORDICA's research relies on close collaboration with offshore wind energy companies that invest in the collection of geophysical and geotechnical data from areas across the North Sea marked for development.

This month, researchers from SeisLab Aarhus, at Aarhus University, are privileged to have been given access to unique core material from one of the larger offshore wind farm areas in the Danish North Sea managed by Energinet. The cores are up to 70 m long, meaning we can study both the late glacial and Holocene palaeolandscapes of #Doggerland, and the geological processes that took place during the flooding of this area. This is very unique data, and an exciting opportunity for SUBNORDICA!
